NEBILYER VALLEY, PAPUA NEW GUINEA
This coffee comes from the island of Papua New Guinea, north of Australia. Our first peaberry coffee. It is unique because one small bean grows in each cherry.
Papua New Guinea is mostly small-hold farmers that have limited access to processing equipment, therefore most coffees are co-op blends. So, it is very exciting to offer a single estate coffee; Korgua Estates.Owned by grower Brian Leahy whose family came over from Australia in the 1930’s.It is built in a neutral zone between the Ulga and Kolga tribes. The coffee pulp is collected and composted to make organic fertilizer. This farm is located in the western highlands where the combination of high altitude and fertile soils create premium growing conditions.
Tasting Notes: Baking cherry pie, zesty, floral, and chocolate pudding
